Personal poster project underway

Sweet Dreams are Made of This

So lately I’ve been working on a personal poster project. The style will be in hand-drawn pen illustrations which will be printed on 50x70mm slightly yellowed paper stock in runs of 150.

The above image is one of 4 illustrations currently in progress, it will include some nice hand made type, and is a good example of the style the posters will use. Simplistic lines with areas of bright colors and a title of hand made type. The one above will have: “Sweet dreams are made of this”

The wine-label more or less finished.

The task was to create a label for a vineyard focusing on ecological and environmentally friendly wines. They wanted a design where the wines would also be colorcoded for the different wines, hence the varying greens.

Packaging in a new (old) direction

The feedback on my previous design was basically that it was too high-end and far removed from their, and competing, products and so I’ve gone back to the drawing table to create something more “classic.” I went for sleek, bright and simple, and while I still like the other idea better, this is still quite a nice packaging and fits well on the shelf with other products in the niche.

Package design in progress 2.0

The feedback received on the previous designs, particularly brought up the problem of black products on black, and so I’ve gone for a beige solution. I don’t want to go pure white, because of the over saturation of this color in the market.
Looking at it I actually prefer it over the black design. Due to cost the metallic ink is out the window, but I believe it will still create attention in the store with the grey on beige. The features font-style have been changed for legibility reasons.

The bottom grey rectangle is just to designate space for third party logo’s and would not be visible on final product.

Package design in progress.

The white and black rectangles are temp logos, and the white squares to the right of main panel are designated third party logo areas. The artwork idea is sound-bars and a clean design. The sound-bars would be done in a metallic grey on matte black to give that little extra.

This is still a work in progress and I haven’t gotten to the adjustment stage yet, so type images and logo are just placed in general positions, and will be refined as I go along.

B-Movie Poster

I had this old messed up makeup photo of myself from a previous photoshoot, and decided to create a classic bad action movie poster. Several layers later this was the result. The only stock images are the guns and helicopter.
